Okay, la música que he elegido hoy es de Tegan and Sara (son gemelos idénticos)– a Canadian rock que a mi me gusta. Sin embargo, según la chica que esta cantando no nos gustaría ella porque la canción se llama ‘you wouldn’t like me’. Esto es un ejemplo perfecto de la condicional en negativo. Y ahora que he satisfecho mi necesidad de darte música hacemos la lista.

¿Te gustaría salir con Sara o Tegan? si tu repuesta es ‘si’ deberías mandarles una carta porque me parece que están sufriendo un poco en términos de auto estima.
Pero bueno, ya que has terminado la lista hablemos más del condicional. La verdad es que siempre me preocupan los ínter nautas buscando listas de verbos etc. Dime si estoy equivocado pero siempre me imagino alguien con muchísima prisa echando un vistazo súper rápido y ya esta – tiempo verbal hecho. Supongo que ya lo sabes pero quiero recordarte hay que pasar mucho tiempo con cada tiempo verbal! Bueno, para terminar la clase de hoy tenemos un dialogo entre dos nativos que usan el condicional. Hablan de países en los cuales vivirían y países donde no vivirían. Jack expresa la imposibilidad de que el viva en Arabia Saudi por la falta de cerveza y chicas.

Jack: Okay, basically, the other day when we were talking about Greece, some issues emerged. So we thought we’d explore these issues by proposing various countries and asking if we’d live there.
Sofia: And let’s start with you, Jack, how about Saudi Arabia? Would you live in Saudi Arabia?
Jack: Well, moving to hot countries is usually an aspiration of most ex-pats, but I’ll admit that Saudi Arabia isn’t high on my list.

Jack: I wouldn’t live there because of the 3 Bs: birds, beer and bollocks.
Sofia: As you just used two slang words that not even our best students would understand… you should explain.
Jack: Well, I’ll start with the one they understand: beer. I would go crazy without beer. I’m accustomed to having a beer almost anywhere at anytime… what the hell would I do in Saudi Arabia when there’s no beer nowhere at no time, and if you do have one – it’s a crime. I would end up in jail – 20 especially when they discover the illegal brewery I’d start up in my attic.
Sofia: And the birds?
Jack: Well, ‘birds’ is a slang term for ‘women’ – another thing that would drive me mad in Saudi Arabia. I mean, I’m a loyal boyfriend, but I like to look at girls.
